Planet League Platform Terms of Use
1. About these Terms

These Platform Terms of Use (Terms) govern access to and use of the Planet League website, mobile web experience, apps, digital platform, and related services (together, the Platform).

These Terms are between Planet League Ventures Limited (Planet League, we, us or our) and each user of the Platform (you or your).

By creating an account, joining a tournament, submitting content, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must review these Terms with you. Where we require parental or guardian permission for your participation, you must not use the relevant parts of the Platform until that permission has been obtained.

2. Scope of these terms

These Terms govern your use of the Planet League platform, including your account, your use of the website and app, your submission of content and evidence, and your participation in tournaments, leagues, campaigns and programmes made available on the platform from time to time, including ongoing and recurring tournaments, unless additional campaign-specific rules apply.

Users do not need new acceptance for every ordinary tournament.

3. Who we are and how to contact us

Planet League Ventures Limited is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11189610, with registered office at Bank House, Southwick Square, Southwick, Brighton, United Kingdom, BN42 4FN.

You can contact us at [email protected].

4. The Planet League Platform

Planet League is a digital platform that runs social and environmental action tournaments, campaigns and programmes. These may be always-on, time-limited, event-linked, tailor made, partner-branded, team-based or individual.

Users may participate in one or more tournaments on the Platform, complete eligible activities, submit evidence, earn points or goals, and where applicable contribute to team scores, leaderboards, prizes and rewards.

Some tournaments may be linked to particular events, clubs, federations, brands, broadcasters, schools, communities or other partners. Additional tournament-specific rules may apply to those tournaments and will form part of the contract between you and us for that tournament.

5. Eligibility and accounts

You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information when creating and maintaining your account. You are responsible for all activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.

You must notify us promptly at [email protected] if you know or suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

We may suspend, restrict or terminate your account, or your access to some or all of the Platform, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, acted fraudulently, undermined the integrity of a tournament, uploaded inappropriate content, or created risk for other users, our partners, or the Platform.

6. Tournaments, campaigns and participation

The Platform may host different competition formats, including individual competitions and team-based competitions. Team structures may include, for example, clubs, countries, sports, schools, communities, ambassador-led teams or other custom formats.

Where a tournament requires you to select a team or campaign identity, you must do so honestly and in accordance with the applicable tournament rules. Joining one tournament or campaign does not necessarily mean that you are automatically entered into any other tournament or campaign.

We may launch, amend, pause, replace or end tournaments, activities, scoring systems, eligibility requirements, cooldowns, leaderboards, rewards, or campaign structures where reasonably necessary for operational, legal, integrity or commercial reasons.

Some tournaments, campaigns, prize promotions or partner activations on Planet League may be subject to additional rules, eligibility criteria, prize terms or partner conditions. Where this is the case, those additional rules will be made available before you join the relevant tournament or campaign. Those additional rules will supplement these Terms and, in the event of inconsistency, will take priority only in relation to that tournament or campaign.

7. Activities and submissions

Activities available on the Platform may vary by tournament, campaign, location, age group, eligibility rules, partner requirements or timing. To claim points, goals or other credit for an activity, you may be required to submit photographs, videos, screenshots, text or other evidence.

We may verify that evidence using human review, automated tools, or a combination of both. Evidence may be accepted, rejected, removed, re-scored or flagged if it is incomplete, misleading, duplicated, inconsistent with the activity, or otherwise invalid under the applicable rules.

We may also remove points, amend scores, adjust leaderboards or disqualify users where we reasonably believe there has been cheating, gaming of the rules, fraudulent conduct, repeated abuse, or any conduct that undermines the integrity of the Platform or a tournament.

8. Safety and participant responsibility

You take part in activities voluntarily and at your own risk. You are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable for you and, where relevant, for any child participating under your supervision.

You must act responsibly, follow all relevant laws, regulations and official guidance, and use equipment properly and safely. You must not undertake any activity in a way that is unsafe, unlawful, reckless, misleading, or harmful to other people, animals, property or the environment.

Where activities involve physical exertion, food, transport, tools, household equipment, or any other practical action, you remain responsible for your own safety and for taking sensible precautions, including obtaining professional advice where appropriate.

9. User content and content standards

You are responsible for all content, evidence and other material that you upload, submit, post or otherwise make available on or through the Platform (User Content).

You must ensure that your User Content is lawful, accurate where it states facts, genuinely held where it states opinions, and does not infringe the rights of any person. You must not upload, submit or post content that is unlawful, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, sexually explicit, exploitative, violent, deceptive, obscene, terrorist, infringing, or otherwise inappropriate.

You must not upload material that contains a child's image or personal data unless you have the necessary rights and permissions to do so. You must not submit reused, manipulated, fabricated, stock or otherwise misleading evidence as if it were genuine evidence of your completion of an activity.

10. Ownership of content and licence to Planet League

You retain ownership of the User Content you upload to the Platform. However, by uploading or submitting User Content, you grant Planet League a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt, edit, distribute, publish, display, communicate and otherwise use that User Content for the purposes of operating, administering, moderating, reporting on, improving, marketing and promoting the Platform and the relevant tournament or campaign.

Where a tournament or campaign is delivered with a partner, you also grant Planet League the right to allow that relevant partner to use your User Content for administering, reporting on, promoting and documenting that tournament or campaign, subject always to applicable law and our Privacy Policy. You confirm that you have all necessary rights, permissions and consents to grant the licence described above.

11. Public and private content

The Platform may allow you to control whether some of your submissions or profile elements are public or private. If public/private controls are available, you are responsible for using those controls appropriately.

Even if content is set to private on the Platform, Planet League may still access, review and process it for moderation, safeguarding, fraud prevention, reporting, legal compliance and customer support.

12. Prizes, rewards and promotional offers

Some tournaments may include prizes, rewards, draws, experiences or other benefits. Where they do, additional tournament-specific prize terms may apply. Unless expressly stated otherwise, prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and not redeemable for cash.

We may substitute prizes or rewards with alternatives of equal or greater value where reasonably necessary. We may withhold, cancel or re-award a prize if we reasonably believe a participant was ineligible, breached the rules, engaged in misconduct or failed to respond within the time stated in the applicable tournament rules.

13. Availability of the Platform

We do not guarantee that the Platform, or any content on it, will always be available, uninterrupted, secure or error-free. We may suspend, withdraw, restrict, modify or discontinue all or any part of the Platform for operational, maintenance, legal, security or commercial reasons.

14. Intellectual property in the Platform

We or our licensors own all intellectual property rights in the Platform itself, including its software, text, design, branding, logos, graphics, databases and other materials, excluding User Content. You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, redistribute, commercially exploit, frame or otherwise use any part of the Platform except as permitted by these Terms or by law.

15. Acceptable use and integrity

You must not use the Platform to cheat, interfere with competitions, manipulate leaderboards, spam users, scrape data, test vulnerabilities, introduce malware, impersonate another person, or engage in any activity that damages or risks the integrity, security or reputation of the Platform.

16. Data protection and privacy

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Subject to the paragraph above, Planet League is responsible to you for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.

The Platform, activities, tournaments, commentary and related content are provided for general information and engagement purposes only and do not amount to medical, legal, financial, transport, dietary, technical or other professional advice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising from your own acts or omissions, your choice to participate in any activity, the acts or omissions of third parties, failures of internet or device access, or content and resources provided by third parties.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to bring those changes to your attention. The latest version published on the Platform will apply from the effective date stated there.

19. Ending the contract

You may stop using the Platform and close your account at any time by following the account closure process or contacting us at [email protected]. We may terminate or suspend your access in accordance with these Terms.

20. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these Terms to another organisation, but this will not reduce your rights under these Terms.

These Terms are governed by English law. If you live in England or Wales, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your part of the United Kingdom.
